I’m excited for the upcoming adventures 2015 has to offer, and so glad I got to kick off a new year of travels with a visit to Park City, Utah with the St. Regis Deer Valley. The most important thing to pack when visiting Park City or any other snow town is a proper ski and snowboarding jacket. I wanted to bring one that would not only work on the slopes but also for exploring the area.
Wearing athletic wear for travel is certainly nothing new, but with more technical clothing being released thanks to the street-sportswear trend continually growing the styling options have gotten better for on and off the plane. I recently went on a trip to Germany to check out the new Element Frankfurt Airport Hotel, the first of this eco-friendly hotel line in Europe that’s only 15 minutes away from the center of Frankfurt and offers a relaxing stay with its home-y studio apartment styled suites, and I traveled wearing styles from lululemon men’s latest collection of fashionable styles that allow to be active in if needed or wanted.
While I wasn’t able to do a shoot my look while in Frankfurt due to scheduling and all the rain while I was there, when I returned stateside I shot the same outfit in New York. Since Frankfurt is also known as Mainhattan, for the city’s notable skyline with modern high-rise buildings and the local Main River, it seemed more than fitting that I shoot in Lower Manhattan and Ellis Island to show the city’s skyline.

Having some major Europe withdrawals as I put together this post! While in Budapest last month with the Corinthia Hotel Budapest for my AskMen.com article I had time to do some city exploring. For an afternoon’s outing across the Liberty Bridge over the Danube River, market shopping and afternoon of walking through the Pest side of town (where the market, Corinthia and the majority of the attractions and city life is) I went for a city preppy outfit that I styled up with a few statement accessories: Read the rest of this entry
A denim jacket is a fall essential. It’s light enough for sunny days, and you can layer it for the cooler moments and nights. It also comes in handy for travels, as you can dress it up or down and make a lot of use of it. For arriving into Budapest earlier this month, I wore a denim on denim look. Fall is a great time to layer, and a simple way to do for a casual look is with a denim jacket and statement accessories. This fall has already been such a crazy time for me that I haven’t been posting as much as I usually do–sorry! Just got back from traveling Europe (so excited to share about that soon) and am now in Vancouver. Have had to keep styles rather casual so thought would be a good time to post about that.
While in Vancouver this summer, instead of running the lululemon SeaWheeze half marathon I went for a bike ride with others who were also sitting out the run. We rode along the runner’s route to cheer and see the run, which brought throughout the city over across one of the several bridges over to Kitsilano Beach (also known as “Kits” Beach). There with the picturesque background (though almost everywhere in Vancouver – at least where I was – seemed to be picture qorthy) I decided to do an importune outfit shoot. More below:
While at New York Fashion Week I took advantage of free time I had to shoot a couple of outfits. First up, one to bring you from summer to fall.
Bold prints can be worn year round, but the end of summer is really the last chance you can make bright florals work with the upcoming elements (at least that’s true if you live in the north East Coast, since if you are Los Angeles and Miami you can wear the print all year round). I styled a blue floral-geo print short sleeve button down from Express with black accessories and a tee to contrast the shirt, but added a pair of cerulean blue slacks to balance the overall look. Along with my accessories like the Frank & Oak canvas and leather backpack and Kenneth Cole leather slip-on kicks, I also show the ultimate fashion week essential; a Mophie juice pack helium battery phone case in a metallic green. Seriously, I sadly would not have survived without from all the shows, events, and street style and backstage coverage I did while at NYFW. See more of the look below:

From my Texas road trip with Best Western, one of my favorite things we did was a food tour of Austin through its colorful and cheeky (and tasty) food trucks. For the outdoorsy dinner crawl in the Texas heat (which since it was over 90 degrees F was luckily more of a bus tour), I sported an ikat pattern top from Territory Ahead, denim shorts I made, and UGG’s lightweight Cantrell suede chukka boot style. Instead of going with that blue J.Crew gingham shirt that has its own Instagram account, opt for a brighter option like this one from Vineyard Vines if you want to wear a checked shirt. While it is still summer, have some fun and style it with stylish (and some whimsical) nautical accessories as I had my friend and blog model Hayden wear. Read the rest of this entry
While August is coming to end this weekend, there’s still a lot of time to catch some summer rays! The rest of this week I’ll be posting summer outfits to inspire your style during these last week of summer (and before my blog and life goes into full on New York Fashion week mode). If you are traveling to New York for fashion week or another time in September, make sure to stop by Washington Square Park for some r&r. Read the rest of this entry
