Pull-On Shorts to Get This Summer

I recently wrote a story for Edge Media Network on shorts to get for every style. Featuring styles for everyday, beach vacation, and for the office. Personally, my favorite style is casual shorts with a waistband and drawstring. Slip them right on, and go where you need to go.

My go-to styles are a few athletic pairs I have from the now defunct Hill City brand, but below, find other favorite casual pull-on shorts to get now:

Outfit: Pride is Every Day

Just because the official June Pride month is over doesn’t mean Pride is done. With so much left to do for everyone to be equal and safe, both here at home and around the world, Pride is year-round! It was lovely to see so many brands reaffirm their support for the community and towards causes the past month with new launches and efforts, and hope it continues and that more join.

Among the brands were Mavi Jeans, UGG and Skagen Denmark, each of which released fantastic new styles this season and donated towards LGBTQ causes and organizations. I was already of fan of them, and now more so!

Styled some of their Pride pieces below, a couple new favorite summer styles as well:

indochino-custom-suit-travel-indigo

Getting your first online custom suit can be tricky, especially if you never had a tailor-made suit before. One brand to shop is Indochino for their simple ordering process, shopper benefits such as their tailoring credit with if an order doesn’t fit, and the handsome suit options that can be perfect for any occasion–travel in the Mediterranean for instance.

A Ski Jacket for the Slopes and Park City Exploring

park-city-winter-outfit-oakley-snow-jacket

I’m excited for the upcoming adventures 2015 has to offer, and so glad I got to kick off a new year of travels with a visit to Park City, Utah with the St. Regis Deer Valley. The most important thing to pack when visiting Park City or any other snow town is a proper ski and snowboarding jacket. I wanted to bring one that would not only work on the slopes but also for exploring the area.

In The Bag: Daytime Accessories For Las Vegas

las-vegas-accesories Sunny and warm, you only need a handful of accessories for a trio out to Vegas if you’ll be spending your days being pampered in one of its dozen spas, hanging out in your hotel or resort, or catching rays out by the pool. Shot in the new Delano Las Vegas and by the Mandalay Bay pool, my accessory picks below: Read the rest of this entry

Outfit: Summer to Fall Styling

summer-to-fall-style-fashion-week-1

While at New York Fashion Week I took advantage of free time I had to shoot a couple of outfits. First up, one to bring you from summer to fall.

Bold prints can be worn year round, but the end of summer is really the last chance you can make bright florals work with the upcoming elements (at least that’s true if you live in the north East Coast, since if you are Los Angeles and Miami you can wear the print all year round). I styled a blue floral-geo print short sleeve button down from Express with black accessories and a tee to contrast the shirt, but added a pair of cerulean blue slacks to balance the overall look. Along with my accessories like the Frank & Oak canvas and leather backpack and Kenneth Cole leather slip-on kicks, I also show the ultimate fashion week essential; a Mophie juice pack helium battery phone case in a metallic green. Seriously, I sadly would not have survived without from all the shows, events, and street style and backstage coverage I did while at NYFW. See more of the look below:

Outfit: Bright, Nautical Gingham

gingham-shirt-nautical-summer-1

Instead of going with that blue J.Crew gingham shirt that has its own Instagram account, opt for a brighter option like this one from Vineyard Vines if you want to wear a checked shirt. While it is still summer, have some fun and style it with stylish (and some whimsical) nautical accessories as I had my friend and blog model Hayden wear. Outfit: Summer Rays

While August is coming to end this weekend, there’s still a lot of time to catch some summer rays! The rest of this week I’ll be posting summer outfits to inspire your style during these last week of summer (and before my blog and life goes into full on New York Fashion week mode). If you are traveling to New York for fashion week or another time in September, make sure to stop by Washington Square Park for some r&r. Read the rest of this entry
