Travel Essentials for Summer and Tropical Getaways
With summer travel planning in mind, there are a few things you should always have in your wardrobe and accessories collection to be ready for the season ahead and for any last minute tropical getaways. I recently traveled to Thailand and had to pack for high 80s and 90 degree, humid weather. Knowing I’d be in the lush tropics of beach towns like Krabi and Khao Lak I packed a range of short sleeved tops, shorts, swimwear and sunnies.

Staying at The Tubkaak Krabi Boutique Resort, a beautiful and secluded resort in Krabi with private villa and a picture perfect beach front, styles I brought that should be in a travel wardrobe for summer and tropical getaways are a pair of printed swim trunks, a solid polo shirt, torte sunglasses, denim shorts (pictured below) and bold boat shoes. They all came in handy together and separately, as they are able to be mixed and match with various tees, shirt styles, shorts and other wearables. Must-Have Bag
A trusty carry-on tote bag is a must have travel essential for year-round. Black is always a good color for its versatility, and the Lacoste L.13.12 Concept Voyage Travel Tote is a stylish choice.
More Travel Essentials
Other essentials to have handy for the summer and tropical travel are sunscreen, lip balm for the plane, and face and eye serum to keep looking fresh if there’s a late night out or no sleep on the plane. And a tech gadget to have handy is the Olloclip. The 4-in-1 offers four lightweight lens options: a fisheye, wide-angle and two macro lenses (one 10x and the other 15x). I found it very useful for interiors and to capture moments that the iPhone alone just can’t.
