Texas Road Trip: Photo Diary

Personal and professional travels have brought me to various parts of the U.S. and over international waters, but Texas wasn’t in my travel goals this year. Then when Best Western invited me on a road trip through The Lone Star State to experience a few of their properties and attend the National Association of Hispanic Journalists Convention, I thought there would be no better way to experience Texas and got onboard.

Denton, Austin and San Antonio (above) were on the itinerary to stay in three different property styles, and along with other bloggers and writers, we rode through in three different Toyota cars (the 2014 Toyota Camry Hybrid being my favorite since I’ve been driving a Camry since my teens and for the extra space as compared to the Corolla and Prius).

We stayed in the Best Western Plus Sunset Suites Riverwalk in San Antonio (which is located in historic St. Paul Square and features an old era charm since part of the building was built in the 1800’s), the Best Western Plus Austin City in Austin (which has a modern mod-like lobby area and lounge), and the Best Western Premier Crown Chase Inn & Suites (below) in Denton (my favorite of the three for its contemporary design).

Travel Tip: A great thing about the Best Western brand that I forgot about since I haven’t stayed in one since I was in Paris my first time back in 2010, is that each property offers a complimentary full breakfast and free Wi-Fi Internet service (which every hotel should really included as part of one’s stay, especially in today’s tech driven and social media addicted day in age).

See photos from my trip below from that included a tour of food trucks in Austin, the southern charm of San Antonio (plus a stop to the Toyota manufacturing plant there), and more:
