9 Polos To Get This Summer
June seems to be going by so fast, as Father’s Day is already this weekend. To add to your summer wardrobe, or in case you haven’t had time to pick up a gift yet for your dad, partner or any other men in your life with kids, a polo is a timeless summer style.
As a summer essential, the polo can be dressed up or down and is offered in the collections of several men’s fashion brands each summer season. See my picks below:

What To Get From 2014 CFDA Fashion Award Winners Public School And Tim Coppens
The Oscars of the fashion here in the states, the annual CFDA Fashion Awards went down last night where Rihanna of course was the showstopper for her sheer, custom fishnet dress that was covered in Swarovksi crystals. She shined bright like a diamond (you see what I did there), and was rightfully awarded the Fashion Icon award.
On the designer awards side of things, award winners of the night included Joseph Altuzarra for Altuzarra (Womenswear Designer of the Year), Mary-Kate Olsen & Ashley Olsen for The Row (Accessories Designer of the Year Award), Shane Gabier & Christopher Peters for Creatures of the Wind (Swarovski Award for Womenswear) and Irene Neuwirth (Swarovski Award for Accessory Design).
Then in menswear, for their luxury tailored streetcar brand Public School, Maxwell Osborne & Dao-Yi Chow won the Menswear Designer of the Year (which was present by the dapper James Marsden), and Belgium designer Tim Coppens won the Swarovski Award for Menswear, which honors and recognizes emerging talent (and which Public School won last year).
Now’s a good of a time as any to shop these two designers, below find three picks for each: Read the rest of this entry
Win A Trip To Los Angeles With Bonobos
In anticipation of Bonobos’ new Guideshop opening in Los Angeles on La Brea next month, the menswear brand is hosting a contest for a trip for two to the Golden Coast. Along with the two round-trip airfare tickets to Los Angeles, the winner will get a two-night stay at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and a $1,000 Bonobos wardrobe—you can get a lot of their well known no-diaper-butt pants for that. Enter once now through June 8th.
In case you’re not familiar with the Guideshops, these are stores across eight cities at the moment—which include Boston, Chicago and New York (pictured above)—where you can try on all the styles they have to offer while a Guide (a sales person/stylist in a way) helps you pick out what you want to see. Then you order your items to be delivered right to your home. These Guideshops are great if you’re not familiar with the brand, if you’re traveling or just don’t like to carry shopping bags. Outfit: How To Dress Up A Black T-Shirt
Expanding my Outfit series to include “how to” guides, figured I’d start off with a styling question that everyone asks themselves: how to style a basic black tee? Simple answer, it’s all about the shoes!
Pair a simple black tee with a pair of slim or skinny jeans (like Mavi’s Daniel style), add favorite accessories and slip on pretty much any statement shoes you feel like that day. Whether it’s a pair of luxury, leather moccasins such as these Killers from Sandro, or a colorful pair of espadrilles or penny loafers, your shoes will standout even more when styled with a black tee.
