In this week’s edition of OUT On The Street, I came across a SoHo sales specialist named Jason in an eye-catching red leather jacket from Zara, and a polka-dot-on-polka-dot sweater (Topman) and shirt (Joe Fresh) scheme. See the details of the look on Out.com, and check out more street style on Vee Travels.

Outfit: On The Edge For Fall

outfit-fall-mackage-coat-1

The cold fall air is in full swing here in the Northeast, which means its time to pull put on those wool jackets if haven’t been already. For an edgier look than the classic wool zip-up or peacoat, Canadian luxury outwear brand Mackage offers jackets and coats that combine three fall and winter essential skins and styles: wool, leather and the down jacket.

Browsing Mackage’s current collection, the Sinclair Biker is an asymmetrical styled wool zip up with leather trimming and notched lapels. You get two looks with this coat, as the down nylon arms are removable. To style this black beauty, I had Vee Travels model Hayden put on a black camo waffle crew from Uniqlo, H&M blue jeans, a Tibetan Mask Bead Bracelet from Yuvi Alpert’s Men In Cities, black Express aviators and a pair of suede lace up ALDO mid-calf boots that he surprised me with.

In this week’s edition of OUT On The Street, I found a casually dressed Londoner named Pete Williams, who’s a Digital Creative Director in the advertising and experiential industries. Spotted on The Highline on his way home from work, his button-down shirt with a color block scheme on the elbow caught my eye. See the details of the look on Out.com, and check out more street style on Vee Travels.

Fall Shopping: Statement Backpacks To Get Now

fall-backpacks-2013-statement

Now contrbuting for AskMen.com, my first story is on fall statement backpacks that you’re going to want to get your hands on this season!

The backpack made a fashion comeback a couple of years ago, and it isn’t going away any time soon, with designers and brands still featuring it in their collections. On trend right now is the statement backpack, which stands out from your basic North Face or Jansport pack you lugged around the college campus (or the beat-up one you still use as a carry-on). Loaded with character, a statement backpack can go a long way with a bold print or a chic utilitarian design. So throw on one of these packs and show it off at the gym, at work — or possibly on your next date.

Pictured above on the far left, WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie‘s Liberty Print Canvas Backpack, then clockwise from the top left; Coach‘s Thompson Backpack, Mismo‘s Leather-Trimmed Twill Backpack, Zara‘s Animal Print Rucksack, and Herschel Supply Co.‘s Heritage Backpack. Visit AskMen.com for what makes these and five other backpacks the statement packs to get this season, and the links where to buy them.

Travel Inspiration: Colombia’s Cartagena de Indias

cartagena-old-city-streets

Forget everything that immediately comes to mind when you think of Colombia. The country has been improving its image, especially in many major cities of business and travelers  (with tourism tripling since 2006). On a trip for Latina.com, I got to experience the relaxed Caribbean city of Cartagena de Indias (Cartagena for short) and the thriving metropolitan life in Bogota.

Continuing our Travel Inspiration photo series, see select images that’ll make you want to hop the next flight to Colombia. Both Cartagena and Bogota are accessible by a two-to-four hour flight from LAN Airlines‘ Miami hub, depending where you go first.

To accompany me, I selected the handsome and strong Bleecker Legacy Weekend Tote from Coach which proved to be perfect for any weather as we experienced tropical rain the first day in Cartagena, sun with high humidity the next, and Bogota’s unpredictable weather patterns brought a little of all the elements. Picture yourself in its place in a couple of the photos below, and stay tuned for the post on Bogota as well.

Cartagena, Colombia:

A rainy morning, our journey starts high above all of Cartagena in Cerro de La Popa, a convent that attracts tourists for being the highest peak in town and providing spectacular city views at just under 500 feet above ground. Read the rest of this entry

Outfit: Jet Setter Style In Cartagena Featuring @Coach

Jetsetter-style-travel-fashion-cartagena-colombia-4

When packing for a Caribbean city like Colombia’s Cartagena, a booming tourist destination, it’s good to make sure you pack (or are wearing) attire that is versatile. You can dress down as you transition to the humid weather and for a relaxed look, or you can dress up for a meeting if you’re visiting on business or for a special night during your holiday with a significant other.

Accessories are important for any traveler, especially if you love style, and they can help you put together outfits for your trip. The most important one is your bag, so I went with the handsome and strong Bleecker Legacy Weekend Tote from Coach in olive for its modern heritage design and spacious body.

Travel Essential: Niche For Men Deodorizing Face And Body Wipes

niche-for-men

Whether you’re traveling for city to city for work or living a city life of crowded subways and streets, there are times you’re going to break in unanticipated sweat—and who has time for that?

If you don’t have a moment for a quick shower (or there isn’t one available nearby), Niche For Men are male face and body deodorizing wipes to help you fight the sweat and the unpleasing smell and feeling associated with it. Individually packaged, each wipe folds out to hand towel (9″ x 11″) and is infused with ginseng, aloe vera, soothing oils and a masculine scent.

I tried out one of these bad boys after a long day in the city that had me hopping to different showrooms, attending a press preview and shooting street style. While I didn’t break in too much sweat, I did a bit, and felt gross from being around so many people on the subway and train back to Stamford. I pulled out a wipe from its slim, tearable case and wiped the oils off my forehead first, and started to feel fresh again. I continued with the rest of my face, neck and arms, and just like that it was as if I showered and sprayed myself with a light cologne. The wipes are also reportedly strong enough to clean you up after long work outs.

Think of Niche For Men as a backup shower you can keep in your fitness or carryon bag, office desk drawer or even your back pocket (as the wipe is folded down to 3″ x 4″ in the packet). Starting at $3 for a set of two wipe packets.

In this week’s OUT On The Street for Out Magazine, I came across menswear blogger One Dapper Street (aka Marcel Floruß) at a Coach’s spring 2014 press preview. Dressed in his blog’s namesake style, Marcel sports a perfect combination of autumn shades: olive, taupe, burgundy and cognac. See the details of the look on Out.com, and check out more street style on Vee Travels.

Preview: Coach Men’s Spring 2014

Coach-Mens-Spring-2014-Stripes-1

It’s all about the stripes for Coach’s mens collection this upcoming spring. An array of stripped goods from umbrellas and footwear to pouches, wallets and totes were featured in warm tones (yellow, orange and red), and blues and olives as well.

One the first totes seen at the preview (below)  stood out as a favorite for me for its different sized stripes and use of basic tones highlighted by the standout canary yellow:

toms-sunglasses-world-sight-day-beshady-1

Taking part in World Sight Day (October 10th), TOMS is putting forth its #BESHADY campaign in support and awareness of this annual day created to focus global attention on blindness, visual impairment and rehabilitation of the visually impaired.

Wear your sunglasses indoors to show support, and when asked by others why you are wearing sunglasses while reading a magazine, in a restaurant or as you shop, you can tell them it is for the 285 million people who are visually impaired or blind. Upload selfies to Instagram with the hashtag #BESHADY.

TOMS, which also helps restore or save the sight of a person in need with every eyewear purchase, has released a limited edition pair of sunglasses for World Sight Day. The Phoenix Gold Mirror ($55) comes in an amber tortoise frame and ear pieces in solid white and sky blue. You can style up the sunglasses with a fall essential denim jacket (this one from H&M), and colors such as charcoal or olive always pair nicely with denim or torte.
