Nicola Formichetti’s Debut for Diesel Fall/Winter 2014 – Denim, Tattoos and Pussy Riot

A year at Diesel as the artistic director, Nicola Formichetti wanted to present his debut collection in a different way outside of the established fashion weeks. Wanting to offer “an experience people can remember”, Diesel’s Fall/Winter 2014 presentation was only shown to an audience of 300 in Venice yesterday, and was promoted and shown through social media with the hashtag #DieselVenice.
Attendees included editors from across the globe, power bloggers such as Bryan Boy, Susie Bubble and Blonde Salad, designers Dean and Dan Caten of DSQUARED2 and Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren of Viktor & Rolf, and celebs from Courtney Love to Colton Haynes (who’s becoming quite the fashion attendee).
While yours truly wasn’t there (#somedaymaybe), thanks to social media, I’ve picked out the best photo moments from the show, which include a performance from rapper Brooke Candy (Nicola’s muse), a ski mask homage to the Russian feminist punk rock protest band Pussy Riot, and the clothes of course, which for men included distressed, patch worked and paint splatter denim, leather moto jackets, and a lot of tattoos!
In The Bag: Travel Essentials For Cancún, Mexico

In this edition of Vee Travels’ In The Bag series, essential accessories for traveling Cancún, Mexico. Shot at the Moon Palace, these accessories mix a little luxury with simple travel and tropical necessities that’ll keep you stylish and happy.
Tote – Coach
The sophisticated Coach Bleecker Day Tote In Bar Stripe Leather makes a colorful statement with the sky blue stripes, but its gold hardware adds the refined look to the bag. Spacious with large pockets inside (one zip and another with snap closure, it can be carried by its leather handles or a detachable nylon shoulder/crossbody strap. Large and durable for 15″ laptop as well.

Swimwear – Zara
You can’t go wrong by selecting a floral or tropical print swimwear for the Caribbean, my selection is a clean black and white design from Zara (not available anymore, but here’s another style). The key to swimwear is picking one for your body, but a good rule of thumb to keep in mind is to avoid purchasing ones that go past your knees. Swim shorts with an 6-8″ inch seam should be able to work and look good for men of most heights and body types.
Preview: Lacoste Men’s Fall/Winter 2014 Adds More Modern Styles

Lacoste is synonymous with its classic polo, sure, but after taking a peek at the upcoming fall and winter collections from its Lacoste Golf, Golf Mountain and Lacoste L!VE lines, you see how the brand continues to add more modernize styles. Highlights for me include the various mixed-media footwear and tops, like a Lacoste L!VE leather armed baseball sweatshirt (below), color blocked polos and tees, sport-chic timepieces, and patterns that include camo, wavy stripes and geometric prints on sweaters and polos. Style Guide For Music Festivals
If you find yourself heading to Magic City this weekend for the Ultra Music Festival, I’ve put together a cool guy’s guide for AskMen.com to give you a rundown of who to check out, where to eat, drink and shop in Miami, who to take style inspiration from, and what to wear:
Styling for any music festival, you can never go wrong with skinny jeans, but if the destination is very warm (like Miami), shorts are also a great option—just make sure to go for flat front over cargo styles (those are so over). For tops, go for graphic tees and tanks with funky designs, and make sure to skip out on the usual band, kitsch or ironic T-shirts. For accessories and footwear, old-school chic and plastic sunglasses are great to go from music festival to sunbathing, a colorful or print baseball cap is useful all spring and summer long, and sneakers and slip-ons are good go-tos as you’ll be standing and bouncing around for hours. World Water Day is an annual event from the UN every March 22nd as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and conservation. A way to do your part is to upgrade to a glass water bottle everyday over plastic. Drinking out of glass is not only healthier, but can be stylish with the must have glass water bottles from Takeya.
Easy to grasp and carry, the Takeya Classic Glass Bottle is inspired by the iconic American milk bottle, and these durable glass bottles come with a silicone jacket that provides a no-slip grip. An easy-carry loop and a tight twist cap make it the ideal bottle for when you’re on the go. Outfit: Cancún Style, From Land To The Caribbean Sea

While in Mexico for the Cancún-Riviera Maya Wine & Food Festival this year, I had some down time for some much need style posts. Shot on the beach of the Moon Palace, a tee and shorts outfit is something that can be enjoyed both at your resort or by the beach. To add a little stylish flair, lightly layer with a short sleeve linen shirt (this one from Perry Ellis). Then to make a personal statement, talk with your accessories.
The Coach Bleecker Day Tote In Bar Stripe Leather makes a refined, yet colorful statement with the sky blue stripes, and then can glow with gold aviators (this fashionable performance pair is Under Armour UA Alloy). For footwear, if you’re not doing sandals go for printed espadrilles like this navy, cloud-turtle design from Sperry Top-Sider as an alternative to florals and tropical plants.
Street Style: How To Add Some Dandy Flair To Your Look

In this street style feature for Out magazine, wandering near Columbus Circle I spotted a jazz musician who rocks a faux fur collar overcoat that he found at a thrift shop. He pairs it with a marled gray turtleneck sweater and heritage Tommy Hilfiger boots, adding a touch of dandyism to his outfit with a paisley print scarf.
Street Style: Dressing Smart With A Statement Coat

In this street style feature for Out magazine, wandering near Fifth Avenue I spot a sales associate named Bryan who was sporting a stylish square print overcoat by 3.1 Phillip Lim. Bryan dresses it smartly with his Louis Vuitton suit and tie, and dresses that down with a pair of sky blue Vans.
