A Last Minute Surprise For The Preppy Dad: Vineyard Vines Suites
Forgot it’s Father’s Day this weekend? No worries, there still time to surprise dear old dad with a preppy gift he’ll love; a stay at the new Vineyard Vines Suites.
If you haven’t heard already, the nautical-inspired brand has partnered with Lark Hotels, a boutique hotel group with properties throughout coastal New England, to create guest suites at two Lark hotels: Captain Fairfield Inn in Kennebunkport and Nantucket’s 76 Main (which just opened it’s suite this week).
Rainbow Trainers: Nike’s #BETRUE Collection
Nike’s 2013 #BETRUE collection has been revealed, in celebration of its partnership and support of the LGBT community. In its second year, Nike has stuck with an obvious rainbow theme for this year’s campaign, and they look pretty awesome!
Its driving shoe, the Nike Free 5.0 #BETRUE sneaker are colorful kicks that offer runners “increased foot strength” and a “barefoot-like feel.” Nike Flywire technology is used for a dynamic, snug fit, and the insoles have a funky tribal design.

Along with the sexy speedos, two swim trunks that stood out for their simplicity included the 4″ Boardshort in Santorini Red Stripe (with stripes on the back pocket as well) and the Ibiza Cross swimtrunk in Royal/White.
20 Menswear Designers ReInvent The Army Duffle
Details and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) have teamed again in the name of accessories and charity: They’ve asked 20 menswear designers—including Marc Jacobs, Rag & Bone, Billy Reid, and recent CFDA award winner Public School—to reinvent the old-school drab-green duffle bag. The bags go up for auction on eBay on June 10 through June 17, with proceeds going to the CFDA Foundation, which benefits emerging designers.

Eating In & Out Of The Castro: 10 Eats in San Francisco

In The Castro
Old and new places to try when visiting the gay Mecca and its surrounding areas:
Located in the heart of The Castro, Hi Tops (pictured above), which opened last fall and is the city’s first gay sports bar, if you can believe it, serves up the classics (Buffalo Wings, et al.) you’d expect from a sports-centric watering hole, though with a decidedly fancy twist—including a four cheese grilled sandwich (smoked gouda, cheddar, gruyere, and jarlsberg) with dried fruit chutney. One note, this place is poppin and can at times be pretty full.
While Hi Tops of course has burgers, they’re taken a bit more seriously a few buildings southwest at SliderBar. This mini California chain (the original opened in Palo Alto) offers a variety of pint-sized sandwiches made of beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, and veggies and many comes with sassy names, such as the Double Trouble (double grass-fed beef patties based sliders), the Hot Chick (fresh ground chicken with various spicy ingredients and add ons), and Italian Stallion (pork patty with Italy’s finest added).
Continuing southwest, you’ll find long-standing favorite Catch, a cozy seafood spot where Harvey Milk’s first camera shop once stood (not to be confused with his later camera shop, which is now an HRC shop). Though most of the dishes are delicious, we recommend the seared halibut, sauteed blue talapia, and linguine with clams. Eat inside or out on the heated, screened patio.

Cirque Du Soleil’s ‘LIGHT’ Ventures in Nightlife
The LIGHT club opens up this month and marks the third nightlife venture for Cirque Du Soleil in Las Vegas.
Get turned on by the latest installment from Cirque Du Soleil, LIGHT. The upcoming nightclub at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas will bring together sound and art for club goers to experience in a way that does not involve sitting in a theater. While it is not a gay club, all of Cirque Du Soleil properties are gay friendly (and there is even a thriving gay night at one of them), and LIGHT will surely be one to check out during a night in Sin City after it opens Memorial Day Weekend.
Look Towards the LIGHT

Designed to play with your senses, LIGHT will merge the world-renowned creativity and theatrics with high-tech production and internationally acclaimed DJs and performers to “redefine a night out.” Upon arrival, guests are expected to enter the realm of the unknown, as everyone will be part of the “show”. The DJs will be aided by exclusive performance elements and visuals provided by costumes and unique choreography, video mapping, lighting, sound, and special effects experts Moment Factory, which has provided effects for more than 300 events, shows and installations for the likes of Cirque du Soleil, Disney, Nine Inch Nails, Céline Dion, and Madonna—to name just a few.
