Perry Ellis Men’s Spring 2016 Collection and Backstage Photos
The Perry Ellis Spring 2016 collection at New York Fashion Week: Men’s and backstage moments with models such as Oli Lacey, Christopher Moore, Michael Lockley, Clark Bockelman, Adonis Bosso, Baptiste Radufe, and more.
From an interview with Perry Ellis’ Creative Director Michael Maccari I did for AskMen.com, the designer shared that when it came time to design looks for the 2016 collection he looked to destinations such as Tel Aviv for inspiration.
“It was about the idea of beach cities,” he told me for AskMen while in the backstage area at New York Fashion Week: Men’s, as models walked by in leather sandals that helped further indicate that theme. “I thought [Tel Aviv] was a great mash-up of the two because you’ve got skyscrapers and it’s sort of an urban environment, but then you’re on the beach,” Maccari said.

For styling, Maccari shared with me for AskMen that they layered compression undergarment tees and tights. “Those under suits look amazing, so we’re trying to always create what the ‘new suit’ is,” Maccari explained. “We have these shirt jackets or even just shirts, with pant hook ups. It’s sort of like the new suiting is shirt suits.” The AskMen article can be found here, and see more photos from backstage and of the collection below:
