London Luxury Travel with the Corinthia Hotel London and British Airways
London is undoubtedly a favorite city of mine, and I try to visit at least once a year. During a recent visit across the pond with the Corinthia Hotels and British Airways, I indulged in English luxury travel with British Airways’ Club World business class and the five-star Corinthia Hotel London in the West End just north of the River Thames and near Trafalgar Square.
This wasn’t my first time in business class, but was my first time having my own spacious, private suite. It’ll be hard to fly back to London in coach as the Club World suite included a power supply for my laptop and other larger electronics and the ability to become a 180 degree full-flat bed—which I of course used both during my flight out and the return.
I arrived to the Corinthia Hotel London bright an early, and did some exploring of the luxurious, historical property that was built in 1885 as a Victorian hotel (and then eventually the Corinthia in 2011). Welcomed to the property by a pair of dapper doormen, the sight of a breathtaking chandelier from the entry—which you’ll see later in this post—shows the opulence ahead.
Home to over 285 guest bedrooms and suites, there also seven penthouse suites each with their own personality and style and with spectacular views. I stayed in an Executive King bedroom (above) which featured its own private entrance hall and a large wardrobe closet, the beautiful upscale modern bedroom, and a spacious Italian marble bathroom with underfloor heating, a tropical rain shower and a deep bathtub with an LED TV. The bedrooms are designed to help guests sleep better through the handmade, naturally filled Hypnos mattresses (which is endorsed by the Queen herself), sound-proof walls and blackout curtains, aromatherapy bath salts, and there’s even a Sleep Month where you can order room service from a nutrient-dense sleep menu and have warm milky Horlicks drink and pumpkinseed cookies from turn down service.
Bath products in the room are from ESPA, which is also the spa on site as a flagship ESPA Life has, which includes a 3,300 sqm wellbeing spa, a makeover room, dining facilities and a 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center.
Other amenities of the hotel include the Lobby Lounge (the heart of the hotel with its illuminating Baccarat Chandelier – above), the Northall restaurant (which serves British dishes), Massimo Restaurant & Oyster Bar (for modern Italian cuisine), and the Bassoon Bar (an art deco influenced music bar). Then if you are able to splurge on a penthouse stay, the views of the River Thames are spectacular!
Stay tuned for a few London style selects and a new grooming guide!
