London Welcomes Electric Daisy Carnival – Tiesto, Avicii, Steve Angello, & More
This one is for you music travelers! On July 20, the annual electric festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, will make its first European appearance in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. From Insomniac Events, the festival is the largest North American electronic music festival and dance music event, and shows every summer throughout the states (this year in Las Vegas, New York, and Chicago) and Puerto Rico.
The London edition will be produced in partnership with U.K. festival brand Cream, which Billboard reports as a union potentially more meaningful than just the one event. This thought is due to Cream founder and CEO James Barton serving as president of Electronic Music for Live Nation since it acquired his company in May 2012. Its involvement could indicate that Insomniac, long reported to be for sale, is close to sealing a deal with Live Nation as well.
“Bringing Insomniac’s Electric Daisy Carnival experience across the Atlantic to London has been my dream for years and I couldn’t ask for a better partner than Cream, who is a worldwide fixture in electronic dance music culture,” said Pasquale Rotella, CEO and founder of Insomniac. “I’m confident that our collaboration will expose Insomniac’s returning fans and those who have yet to visit our United States festivals an opportunity to unite this summer in London.”
A line up for London has been revealed, and includes gay favorites as the headliners: Tiësto, Avicii, and Steve Angello from former electric trio, Swedish House Mafia. The rest of the list includes: Alesso, Hardwell, Madeon, Fake Blood, Porter Robingson, Jaguar Skillsrusko, Caspa, Mistajam, Shy FX, Goldie, Destructostamina MC, MC:GQ, Ken Mac, and, personal favorite, Crookers for their 2010 hit “Cooler Couleur” Feat. Yelle.
Tickets go on sale Tuesday April 10, and get in the groove with the trailer below:
