Backstage at Richard Chai Fall / Winter 2015
Richard Chai always helps kick off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with a bang! This season brought the outerwear game up an notch with patterned cashmere chesterfield coats, various duvet parkas (one with a brilliant geometric camo pattern and another with fur collar), an elegant anorak pullovers, and a couple metallic coats. Chunky sweaters, oversized scarves, vertical stripe and plaid suiting separates, and graphic pullovers made up the rest of the collection that used smart and sporty layering.
I’m personally in my fourth season of covering NYFW and Richard’s was the first official fashion week show I got to see back when I was starting out back in 2013. So needless to say I was very excited to cover backstage this season as a journalist and blogger. See moments below with models such as Noma Han and Abiah Hostvedt, celeb visitors that included George Kotsiopoulos, Pete Wentz and model Miles McMillan, and of course Richard himself:
Gilded Age Fall / Winter 2015 Collection + Backstage Moments
Over at the Refinery Rooftop at the Refinery Hotel, Gilded Age held its Fall/Winter 2015work wear-inspired collection. Designer Stefan Miljanic was influenced by the 1954 film “On the Waterfront”, which resulted in the use of dark tones the included navy, olive, black, grey and rusty reds. Various denim styles, chunky cashmere sweaters, textured railroad stripe and oxford pants, and printed plaid shirts made up the collection along with outerwear styles of lightly padded parkas, plaid jackets, wool pea coats, and a solid and textured reversible wool bomber. The looks were accessorize with Walk Over Shoes and Kyu Melange leather bags.
Take a look at the collection below, along with backstage moments I captured of the models during hair and makeup and as they prepped for the presentation to start: Read the rest of this entry
