NYFW: David Hart’s “Twilight Zone”-inspired Fitted Suits & Vintage Styled Menswear For F/W 2014

Showing his fall/winter 2014 collection at the inaugural New York Men’s Day, designer David Hart told me his influence for the collection came from the late-fifties/early-sixties sci-fi show The Twilight Zone, and classic black and white television as a new medium back in it was entering its heyday.
Writing for a post on Details.com, we saw fitted tuxedos and suit jackets made of materials ranging from English silk to guncheck wool, as well as turtlenecks worn under jackets and round cracked eyewear (a nod to the perennial favorite episode “Time Enough at Last“).

NYFW: Models Behind The Scenes At New York Men’s Day F/W 2014

It’s been a busy New York Fashion Week so far! Following the iPhone photo diary of New York’s Men’s Day, I wrote up an article for Details.com on key pieces and inspirations for each presentation (here). Now let’s take a look backstage:

Outfit: Black & Blue City Travel Style

No, not the Backstreet Boys album from over a decade ago, but just a simple styling approach with two of the most prominent colors/shades in the every guy’s closet for a city travel look.
Street Style: The Bundled-Up Model
In this street style feature for Out magazine, I wandered around SoHo and found off-duty model Ryan Medel, of New York’s Major Model. He’s sporting an eye-catching mixed-stitch scarf from Brooklyn Industries, and added some casual luxury to his outfit with a watch and boots by Diesel.
See the full look on Out.com, and check out more street style on Vee Travels.
