Street Style: The Bundled-Up Model
In this street style feature for Out magazine, I wandered around SoHo and found off-duty model Ryan Medel, of New York’s Major Model. He’s sporting an eye-catching mixed-stitch scarf from Brooklyn Industries, and added some casual luxury to his outfit with a watch and boots by Diesel.

Google Glass Gets Stylish Upgrade
Despite the Google Glass becoming a somewhat fashion week trend, the original futuristic/weird frame isn’t something for everyday style. So Google decided to up the ante and is releasing four “feather-light titanium frames” and two new sunglasses, all available with prescription lenses now. See the styles below:
3 Quick Style Video Guides For The Modern Man From Perry Ellis
For its spring/summer 2014 campaign, Perry Ellis has taken a fresh and colorful take on previewing the brand’s upcoming collection with laid-back, fun ads (below) and three upbeat video guides to getting dressed. The first one below provides guys a view of different prints and patterns (polka-dots, plaid and paisley), while giving a little history:
Preview: Herschel Supply Spring 2014
Inspired by sun-soaked beach days on the 1980’s, Herschel Supply’s Spring 2014 collection features new prints that include zebra camo (above), paradise florals, woodland camo and Nantucket salmon. New silhouettes joining Herschel army of travel good include the Jasper backpack (a two tone backpack with a taller and thinner shape, and with a mesh water bottle pocket on the side), Classic Mid Volume and three additional messenger styles join existing bags in mixed prints, tri-color blocking and bright pops of neon. The collection will be available at the end of this month, see a preview below:

Paul Smith’s Bohemian Collection At Paris Fashion Week FW14
Taking inspiration the “effortless style and hazy psychedelia” of Jim Morrison, Paul Smith’s fall/winter 2014 collection shows casual luxury at its finest. The core of the styles featured bohemian textile art and tapestry on jackets, scarves, suede ponchos and cashmere sweaters in a range of navy, camel, orange and burgundy.
Music symbol covered sweatshirts, jackets and sweaters we also part of the collection, and solid loose trousers, leather pants, oversized jackets and bags, and shirts with exaggerated lapels and sequin panels filled out the rest of the looks. For the shoes, the printed chukka boots and sneakers had to be my favorite:

Y-3’s Superhero Inspired Debut At Paris Fashion Week

Making Y-3’s Paris Fashion Week debut, Yohji Yamamoto presented the adidas collaboration’s fall/winter 2014/2015 collection in Couvent des Cordeliers. Yamamoto explained that he wanted to pay homage to the couturiers of the 60’s and infuse their spirit into the collection, and was also thinking clothing superheroes wear. He brought these two worlds together for his collection, “cut for an active and fighting life style”.
Bold primaries such as red, yellow and cobalt blue are mixed with black and army green in the sport-chic collection for both men and women, and it was presented in a black and white setting with a neon light backdrop as the models walked the runway to superhero music themes.
Preview: WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie Fall/Winter 2014

For WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie fall/winter 2014 collection, the Peart brothers were inspired by Japan’s design, colors and textures found in its bountiful landscape, and the “dichotomy of Japanese culture—one deeply rooted in time-honored tradition yet at once swiftly ahead of the curve, modern and restrained and its beautiful landscape”.
See the collection below, which features a strong use of blues, stripes and a beautiful mountain landscape print on their Kastrup backpack style:
Street Style: The Wool Factor
In this street style feature for Out magazine, I capture fellow menswear blogger, Freddy Rodriguez of Blue Perk in Washington Square Park. Freddy dons a double turtleneck, with a Uniqlo sweater in his signature color, and tops it with a weather-appropriate wool blazer from American Eagle. His accessories add extra edge to the look: a black and gold hook bracelet from Giles & Brother, an olive tote from do-gooder brand Able Made in collaboration with Public School.

MFW: The Bad Boys Of DSquared2 AW14

Closing out the men’s fashion shows in Milan on Tuesday, DSquared2 designers Dean and Dan Caten most likely took inspiration from Chicago‘s ”Cell Block Tango” and “Orange Is The New Black” as they transformed the catwalk into “Caten’s Penitentary”. Putting on a memorable show, the autumn/winter 2014 presentation began with a spotlight following a model dragged off in a straitjacket to the holding cells, where we see some of the prison-chic models.

The fall collection features bomber jackets, relaxed denim, worker boots, padded orange vests, leather jackets, and even a straightjacket-styled denim jacket.

MFW: Fierce, Glam Fashion From Versace AW14
As Milan Fashion Week comes to an end today, one of my favorites this season had to be the fierce, glam fashion cowboy/bikers from Versace’ upcoming autumn/winter collection.
As written for NewNowNext: “Our cowboy is macho, he’s a biker … he doesn’t have a horse,” Donatella Versace told the AP backstage. She sent models in fitted suits decorated with rhinestone horseshoes and cactus plants down the catwalk, as well as fur motorcycle jackets, silk shirts with “Western Cowboy” on the back, and bandana-print underwear paired with leather chaps.
