With fall here it’s time to pull out those sweaters, light jackets and other fall essentials and put them to use. Below are are eight of my fall essentials and styles you can get now from Original Penguin, Perry Ellis, Ben Minkoff and more:
Taking inspiration the “effortless style and hazy psychedelia” of Jim Morrison, Paul Smith’s fall/winter 2014 collection shows casual luxury at its finest. The core of the styles featured bohemian textile art and tapestry on jackets, scarves, suede ponchos and cashmere sweaters in a range of navy, camel, orange and burgundy.
Music symbol covered sweatshirts, jackets and sweaters we also part of the collection, and solid loose trousers, leather pants, oversized jackets and bags, and shirts with exaggerated lapels and sequin panels filled out the rest of the looks. Continuing Vee Travels’ gift guide series, this week features luxury carry-on bags that’ll make anyone very happy to receive as a present this holiday, but you’ll probably want to pick one or more of these up for yourself to bring along on your next flight or train ride.
Tumi – Alpha All In One Duffel
Bold use of white and orange are paired with the trendy camo, Tumi’s Alpha All In One Duffel lives up to its name with the functionality to split into four smaller bags. The three exterior compartments each detach from the main duffel and convert to a messenger/brief, a crossbody bag and a tote (which opens up from the section on the right below), leaving a slimmer and sleek carry-all to use on its own as desired. ($495, Tumi)
Mulberry – Small Clipper Leather-Trimmed Canvas Holdall
A small holdall, it makes up for size with its eye-catching blue canvas body. Trimmed with a brown resilient leather and two handles, the shoulder strap is of course detachable. ($950, MR PORTER)
Butch camouflage and whimsical polka-dot patterns are both big for this fall season (separate of course), popping up on shirts, shoes, sweaters, accessories and more. Camo has been on the style board for some time, ever since designers began tweaking the military pattern with Day-Glo colors. Polka dots have been a style staple at least since the 1960s, but this year the pattern is really making the rounds, from couture to street fashion.
Contributing style for NewNowNext.com, I’ve selected pieces to get this season. See a couple selections for each below:

Volcom’s new footwear line is on point with these comfortable survival boots offering just a hint of camo. Rock it in the city or in the wilderness. ($160, Volcom)
