Stylish Women Found At NYFW SS14

Along with capturing men’s street style photography this New York Fashion Week, I captured women’s as well for Latina Magazine, and it would be a crime not to feature the best dressed ladies I came across.

Girls can have a lot of fun with fashion due to the amount of womenswear options available and range of styles choices they can try, hence there being about 100 times more women’s fashion magazine brands in the world than men’s (which is good or bad depending on how much content you want to read and look at).

For women’s fashion inspiration for your girlfriend, wife or bestie, see over 30 stylish looks that can help you pick out the next outfit for your female partner or friend (be it a gift or styling help if they ask for it); so make sure to bookmarks this page!

Shooting street style this New York Fashion Week SS14, I spotted glam fashion on several men. See over 20 different men werking everything from gold jewels and flamboyant prints and patterns, to fierce footwear and killer shades. Gendering bending fashion was while alive and well this NYFW, with a couple of the best below:

Hairy Finds: Male Models With Beards At New York Fashion Week SS14

models-beards-ss14-nyfw

As another New York Fashion Week comes to an end, and as I look through all the men’s runway images and studio presentations, I’ve noticed a large use of bearded models among several designers including Lucio Castro, Michael Bastian and N. Hoolywood (respectively pictured above).

This summer beards made a comeback at Paris shows, and America’s Next Top Model (now featuring men) includes a bearded model, Phil Sullivan. Sullivan (top left) actually modeled for Castro this Fashion Week.

No doubt beards have been in style, well groomed and tamed ones of course, but will we see more bearded gents on the catwalk again in February among their clean, shaven brethren? And do we want them to?

NYFW: Brooks Brothers & Black Fleece SS14

brooks-brothers-ss14-nyfw-7

A nice little break from runway shows and shooting street style all day during the tail end of New York Fashion Week, I headed over to Brooks Brothers’ Madison Avenue flagship store for a showroom tour of their Spring/Summer 2014 line, and that of the Thom Browne designed label, Black Fleece by Brooks Brothers.

Brooks Brothers SS14

Sea, surf and sun are the theme, and the line is filled with items inspired by archival photos of Ernest Hemingway and other artists, intellects and jet-setters in The Great Gatsby era and decades following (1920s-50s).

The collection’s beach looks included madras (which was actually introduced to the States by BB), white on white styles, and seersucker and patch patterns.

Travel-ready and day-to-cocktail-hour looks included single and double breasted suits, bold use of red, navy plaid and geo patterns, gingham shirts, leather goods and striped woven ties:

A Picture’s Worth And Travel Inspiration For First Timers To London + Paris

paris-effiel-tower-galleries-lafayette-photo-andrew-villagomez

A hundred years old, the saying “a picture is worth a thousand words” is undoubtedly cliché. However, we can’t deny that it still holds true for photographs that are laced with memory and depth.

While we have our smartphones to snap our daily happenings, the quality and detail of photo that comes from an actual camera still trumps the lens of an iPhone. A camera is also like a third eye that can provide a different perspective to what you would normally see, especially if your digital camera still has a viewer, and can create truly beautiful shots.

I remember my first trips to both London and Paris back in winter 2008 and spring 2010, respectively. In full  tourist mode, which I at times still find myself during each visit, I snapped hundreds of photos of iconic cities to always remind myself I was there (since at the time I didn’t know if I would be able to go back).
